About us
It all began with a deep belief in the power of play.
Jessica, the founding director of Nurtura Counselling, was inspired by how profoundly children communicate, heal, and grow through play. After years of working with children and families, she witnessed time and time again how safe, meaningful connection could change a child’s life.
Jessica holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, a Postgraduate Diploma in Relationship Counselling, and is a certified and registered Play Therapist trained in Child-Centred Play Therapy (CCPT). She is also a registered Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) Practitioner, with extensive experience supporting children with developmental and behavioural challenges. Her background also includes a Diploma in Early Childhood Education, grounding her work in a deep understanding of child development.
With this unique blend of qualifications and heart-led vision, Jessica founded Nurtura to offer a space where children, young people, and families feel seen, safe, and supported. Nurtura is more than a therapy service, it's a place of understanding, collaboration, and growth.
Our team shares Jessica’s commitment to gentle, evidence-based care. We support clients through play therapy, counselling, and tutoring always considering the whole child and their environment.
At Nurtura, healing begins with connection, and every session is a step toward confidence, resilience, and hope.
